Q.K. Petty was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1990. He graduated from the University of Alabama, where he ran track and played football, before a diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ended his athletic career. That turning point redirected him toward storytelling; a different kind of competition, one fought on the page.
Today, Q.K. writes across urban fantasy, thrillers, and romance, crafting stories that dig into the deeper meaning behind life's challenges and the qualities that bind humans together across cultures. He's the author of the Rift series, beginning with Reach (2019), and A Series of Four Seasons — True Winter (2022), Indigo Spring (2024), Dark Summer (2025), and Sweet Fall (2025) — a relentless blend of urban fantasy and psychological thriller for fans of Leigh Bardugo and James Rollins.
At the heart of it all is something personal: the drive to build something lasting; something his kids could one day pick up and say, "Wow, Dad really did that."

A cursed artifact. A hidden war. A brotherhood built on blood and betrayal. Five hundred years ago, the Chains of Peter vanished — relics so dangerous they can shatter a soul or save it. Now the chains have resurfaced in Mobile, Alabama, and the House of David, a secret society sworn to contain cursed artifacts, is hunting them down. Judge Eden Dowler has a plan: recruit his estranged half-brother Orion to finish the job — but the shadowy faction Seditio wants the relic first, and they'll tear a family apart to get it.

Love can heal — or it can destroy. And some relics know the difference. Recently divorced schoolteacher Veronica Janssen meets Winston, a charismatic adventurer who sweeps her off her feet and gifts her a stunning necklace: the Brísingamen, said to have once belonged to the Norse goddess Freya. But the longer she wears it, the more the world twists around her — and the man she thought was her savior starts to feel like her captor. Judge Andrew "Drew" Raines of the House of David never wanted in on Veronica's love life — until bodies start dropping across Chattanooga. A dark urban fantasy of love, control, and the thin line between devotion and possession.

Some summers end in heat. This one ends in blood. The Chattanooga Incident has left the House of David in shambles. Chaos ripples across the city, and the terrorist faction Seditio is seizing its moment to strike. Haunted by loss and personal betrayal, Judge Eden Dowler is fighting to hold the House together even as trust fractures from within. When an old ally resurfaces with answers — and secrets — Eden faces an impossible truth: the traitor he's hunting may be closer than he ever imagined. A gripping urban fantasy of betrayal and vengeance, where loyalty becomes a deadly gamble.

Every storm leaves scars. Some never heal. The House of David lies shattered, betrayed, and blacklisted from the global stage. Yet amid the ruin stands Tennin Aiden Yeager — haunted by loss, driven by loyalty. With his remaining allies Cain, Sarah, Abigail, and Eiji, Aiden faces the overwhelming shadow of Seditio, determined to thwart a dark destiny before the world succumbs entirely. But boredom breeds madness, and Mary Denau craves chaos — her interest ignites when she encounters Dallis, a mysterious child whose unique blood intertwines dangerously with her own. The powerful finale of redemption, survival, and the price of belief.
